La llegada el día anterior al evento a Bilbao transcurrió con normalidad, los 15 miembros de la expedición sortearon todas las obras que había en el camino, que eran pocas, los de la zona ya saben de qué hablamos. Siendo sinceros, también nos perdimos un par de veces hasta llegar a Santurce... donde hicimos una primera parada para descansar. Una ducha para recomponer fuerzas y a pasear por la zona para una primera toma de contacto y hacer un poco de ejercicio, parecíamos la selección española en concentración sólo nos faltaba la equipación...

The day before of our arrival to Bilbao proceeded normally, the 15 members of the expedition weathered all the works that were on the road, which were few, the area already know what we mean. Being honest, we also lost a couple of times before Santurce... where we rested that night, a shower and walk around the area to conduct a little exercise, we looked like the Spanish team in concentration but without the official tracksuits.

Temprano, nos fuimos hasta Getxo, en concreto el Palacio Sanjoseren, preciosa construcción del 1.919, con los 15 en el césped y tras una visita para conocer más de esta casa, dividimos los equipos para preparar todo, cada uno tenía claro que era una tarea contrarreloj, y jugaron como “La Roja” en el pasado Europeo.
Early, we went to Getxo, to the Sanjoseren Palace Hotel, a beautiful 1919 building, with all of us on the lawn and after a visit to learn more about this beautiful house, we divide in teams to prepare everything about the event, everyone was clear it job, and played as "La roja" our spanish football team, in the last European championship.

A las 14.30 hicimos la pausa para la comida, y mientras esperábamos que nos atendieran, una de nuestras compañeras (Vanessa E-guest), propuso una visita al centro de Bilbao y Guggemheim, la verdad que no dudaron mucho, hacia muy buen tiempo y nadie quería irse de esta maravillosa Ciudad sin la obligada visita. Aquí las mejores fotos de todo el equipo.
At 14:30 we made one break for having lunch, and while we waited our waiter, one of our partners (Vanessa E-guest), proposed a visit to the Guggenheim Bilbao and the truth, we don't hesitate for long, It was a very good time and nobody wanted to leave this wonderful city without the obligatory visit. So... Here the best pictures of the entire team.

A las 18.30 dejamos el hotel de concentración para dirigirnos al lugar del Evento, y la tecnología nos jugó una mala pasada...
Uno de los más pintorescos puentes del mundo es el Puente de Vizcaya (Bizcaia Zubia) patrimonio de la humanidad construido en 1.893, toda una obra de imaginería para la época, y un pintoresco modo de transporte, a todos nos ilusiono este pequeño trayecto, a todos menos al conductor de uno de los 4 coches, no habrá nombres a partir de ahora.
At 1830 we left the hotel to go to the assembly venue, and technology played a trick on us. One of the most picturesque bridges in the world is the Puente de Vizcaya (Bizcaia Zubia) World Heritage Site built in 1893, a work of imagery for the time, and a quaint mode of transportation. We were so happy to stay there, all of us less one... the driver of one of the four cars, (no more names by now...)

Esta barcaza colgante que atraviesa coches cada 7 minutos, con 6 coches en cada viaje, se encontró con un imprevisto pasajero repetitivo, al embarcar el revisor indica que pares el motor y pongas el freno de mano, el problema viene con estos coches “modernos” que no tienen el freno de mano, sino botones a tal efecto. Sin saberlo nuestro conductor pulsó el botón de Auto-bloqueo, lo mejor de todo es que al pulsar varios botones y apagar el motor, el coche se bloqueó y nadie sabía cómo volver a hacerlo funcionar. Todo esto en conjunto dio como resultado que cuatro de los miembros del equipo y 1 vehículo cruzaron 5 veces el rio hasta dar con la solución.
This kind of ferry that crosses hanging every 7 minutes, with six cars on each trip, he found an unexpected repetitive passenger. When you ship the reviewer indicates you that you have to stop the engine and put the parking brake. The problem comes with these 'modern" cars wich don`tt have the parking brake, they have buttons for that purpose!! Without knowing our driver pressed the button Auto-lock, best of all is that pressing various buttons and turn off the engine, the car was locked and nobody knew how to get it working again. All this combined resulted in four of the team members and five times a vehicle crossed the river to find the solution.

Appeal to car manufactures... Really do you need to hide the parking brake?

Pero estuvo bien, fue un pequeño percance que le dio emoción al resto de la tarde. Menos mal que, al final llegamos a tiempo a Gexto para dar los últimos retoques y detalles al evento.
But it was ok, it was a small mishap that it gave us excitement to the rest of the afternoon. Finally, we arrived in time to Gexto to put the finishing touches and details to the event.

Sobre el evento me gustaría simplemente destacar dos cosas, primero que todos los que nos visitaron simplemente se sorprendieron de vernos en su ciudad y querían mandar saludos a todos nuestros compañeros que se quedaron en Mare Nostrum en Tenerife, y que para todos nosotros fue un placer estar casi 3 horas disfrutando de cada uno de los momentos y las historias que cada uno de ellos han vivido con nosotros después de años de vacaciones en Tenerife.
About the event I would just like to highlight two things, first of all that everyone who visited us were surprised to see us just in town and wanted to send greetings to all our colleagues who stayed at Mare Nostrum in Tenerife, for us it was a pleasure to be almost 3 hours enjoying each moment each of them after years of holidays in Tenerife.

Al finalizar el evento nos reunimos alrededor de una mesa en el centro del majestuoso jardín frente a la casa, casi a oscuras intercambiamos opiniones y anécdotas de cada una de las familias que nos visitaron, nos sentimos como en casa, solo que esta vez a mas de 2.000 de casa.
After the event we met around a table in the middle of the majestic garden in front of the house, almost dark at late afternoon, we exchanged opinions and anecdotes from each one of the families that we visited to us. Definitely, we felt like at home, this time to more 2,000 of home.
