Durante el rodaje de Furia de Titanes, Tenerife gozó del glamour de Hollywood. Por unos días, la isla fue testigo de luchas entre hombres y dioses, entre hombres y criaturas mitológicas creadas por los dioses para luchar en su nombre. Comenzamos la ruta de Furia de Titanes.

No hay nada mejor que empezar el día apuntando alto, desde el pico más alto de España a 3.718 metros de altura. El Parque Nacional del Teide alberga rincones y especies naturales que no se ven en ninguna otra parte del planeta. Justo a los pies del Teide se extiende el Valle de Ucanca. Una parte importante de la película, se rodó, precisamente, en esta zona, por las características singulares de sus paisajes. Podrás apreciar las llamativas coladas de lava que dan a la zona este particular aspecto lunar. Observando este paisaje, te sentirás como un humano en la era de los Dioses. En esta parte, en las minas de San José pasando por Montaña Mostaza, podrás detener el coche y darte un paseo por el escenario donde Perseo y el grupo de guerreros luchan ferozmente contra enormes escorpiones. Y si de verdad quieres sentirte como los dioses de Furia de Titanes, podrás pasar la noche en el Teide y ver amanecer desde su cima. Para ello, tienes que hacer noche en el refugio de Altavista situado a 3270 metros de altitud. Para ello es necesario hacer reserva llamando al número de teléfono: 922010440.

And if you really want to feel like the gods of Clash of the Titans, you can spend the night at the Teide and see the sunrise from the summit. Al Parque Nacional se puede acceder por varias carreteras, tanto por el norte (TF-24) desde San Cristóbal de La Laguna, ciudad patrimonio mundial de la humanidad, dónde visitar el centro histórico es de obligado cumplimiento. También a través de la TF-21 desde la Orotava y por el sur desde Granadilla o desde Chío (TF-38).

To go to the National Park you can do it by several roads, both north (TF-24) from San Cristobal de La Laguna, world heritage city of humanity, where visiting the historic center is mandatory. Also through the TF-21 from the Orotava and south from Granadilla or from Chios (TF-38).

En el ascenso por la TF-24 te encontrarás con el pueblo de la Esperanza donde, si coincide domingo o día festivo, podrás detenerte en su mercadillo agricultor y aprovisionarte con los mejores productos de la tierra.

Continuando el ascenso te encontrarás con dos de los dos mejores miradores de la Isla: el de Ortuño y Chipeque. Ambos se encuentran en una zona de alto pinar, lo que hace que justo debajo, muchos días del año puedas disfrutar de un maravilloso espectáculo de la naturaleza: el mar de nubes. En la escena de la película en la que Perseo y el grupo de guerreros abandonan Argos, en su camino hacia la búsqueda de las Brujas Estigias, aparece una espectacular imagen de este mismo mar de nubes.

Continuing the ascent you will find two of the best viewer points of the island: Ortuño and Chipeque. Both are in an area of high pine trees, where, you can enjoy a wonderful spectacle of nature: the sea of clouds. In the movie scene where Perseus and the group of soldiers leaving Argos, on their way to finding the Stygian Witches, there is a spectacular image of this same sea of clouds.

Continuando por la carretera que linda con el llano de Ucanca, existe un nuevo mirador desde donde apreciarás las coladas de lava de Pico Viejo y podrás disfrutar de una magnífica estampa con el Teide de fondo. Un paisaje propio de "los mundos prohibidos" donde Perseo y el grupo de guerreros luchan contra demonios y terribles bestias..

Continuing along the road bordering the plain of Ucanca, a new viewer point from where you can appreciate the lava flows of Pico Viejo and also you can enjoy a wonderful picture with Teide in the background. A landscape of the "forbidden world" where Perseus and the group of warriors fighting demons and terrible beasts...

Llegados a este punto, podemos seguir la ruta en base a dos opciones:

At this point, we follow the route based on two options:

1) Un poco más adelante, te encontrarás con el Parador Nacional y los Roques de García. Detrás del Parador, a unos 15-20 minutos a pie, a través de un pequeño sendero conocido como Las 7 cañadas, se encuentra la Cañada del Capricho, escenario natural donde el grupo de guerreros montó su campamento después de la cruel batalla contra los escorpiones gigantes.

1) A little later, you'll find the Parador Nacional and Los Roques de García. Behind the Parador, a 15-20 minute walking through a small path known as The 7 glens, is the Cañada del Capricho, natural setting where the group of warriors set up their camp after the fierce battle against scorpions giants.

2) Tomamos, en este caso, la TF-38 dirección Chío - Guía de Isora atravesando el Pinar de Chío te encontrarás en el centro de la batalla entre Perseo y la bestia Calibos (el antiguo Rey, Acrisio). A la izquierda de la vía encontrarás el área recreativa de Chío, en la que podrás parar y disfrutar de un pequeño descanso acompañado por un picnic para reponer fuerzas y dejar volar tu imaginación con las imágenes de Perseo perseguido por Calibos.

2) We take, in this case, the TF-38 to Chio - Guía de Isora through the Pinar de Chio. There you are in the middle of the battle between Perseus and the Caliban beast (the former King, Acrisio). To the left of the road will find the recreation area of Chios, where you can stop and enjoy a short break for a picnic together to regain your strength and let your imagination with the images of Perseus pursued by Calibos.

a) Bajar al muelle de Los Gigantes y disfrutar de las espectaculares vistas del Acantilado de Los Gigantes e, incluso, darse un baño en la desembocadura del barranco de masca, al cuál únicamente se puede acceder a pie o en barco. En la película "La bahía de la ciudad de Argos". Navegando por estas aguas, sentirás la batalla final del Krahon contra Perseo.

a) Go down to the Los Gigantes harbor and enjoy the spectacular views of the Cliffs of Los Gigantes, in the movie: "The bay of the city of Argos." Navigating these waters, you cand feel the final battle against Perseus Krahon.

b) O bien, dirigirnos hacia Arguayo por la TF-375 y hacer una parada para hacer una pequeña visita al centro alfarero Chei - Domitila, una vivienda de agricultura tradicional donde se muestra una evolución de la típica alfarería guanche. Continua el camino que conduce el Faro de Teno. Podrás observar desde aquí la costa norte de Tenerife desde donde se rodaron escenas de mar como, por ejemplo, en el municipio de Icod de los Vinos, en la destrucción de la Estatua de Zeus. En Playa San Juan también se rodaron escenar de mar. Desde esta otra zona podrás disfrutar de tranquilas atardeceres como el que se rodó para una de las últimas escenas de Perseo.

b) Or, go to Arguayo by the TF-375 and make a stop for a short visit to the Chei - Domitilla potter, a traditional agriculture house wich shows a typical evolution of the Guanche pottery. Continuing the path you'll arive to Teno Lighthouse. From this point you can see the north coast of Tenerife where they filmed scenes at sea, for example, in the town of Icod de los Vinos: the destruction of the Statue of Zeus. Playa San Juan also filmed scenes at sea. From this one area you can enjoy quiet evenings like the one shot for one of the last scenes of Perseus.
